Our insurance company demands that we ask every customer to bring a double identification. That is not something that we decided for ourselves. If it were up to us, we might make a different choice because we want to make renting a car as easy as possible. But if we do not comply, the car is uninsured.
Because we know that not everyone always carries two IDs, we mention it in on our website, in every email and in every phone call. Exactly like we did in the phone call you had with us in which you made the reservation.
And while I realize that this might be cumbersome in certain situations, I do know that virtually every other car rental company in the Netherlands asks their customers to bring both a driver's license and a passport, also for reasons related to the insurance of the car. That is including the other car rental company that you mentioned in your review.
Concerning the diesel: you returned the car outside of our opening hours. Which is a service we provide to give our customers extra flexibility. The morning after you returned the rental car, a Sunday, we refilled the tank for € 40.65. Your fuel consumption was 1 liter in 15 kilometers, which is to be expected of the car that you rented.
We always fill up the tank of every rental car. We do not charge additional fees for this service. This way you can simply return the car, without worrying about filling up the tank.
We are truly sorry that you do not feel like we treated you like the valued customer that you are.
