My experience was great. I learned a lot of basis dutch language to help me talking with the kids. And also some basis sentences to talk with my host parents.
It's great opportunity to take this course it so helpful to communications
It was fun, I just fund it hard to learn since it was only once a week and there's is no Dutch in my family but with their way of teaching, I can say that if my family is Dutch I can learn easily.

the class is good, but the book we used is not really didactic and although it is complemented with the handout, i was not helpful amd made my learning experience a bit frustrating.
Dear Paulina, Thank you for your feedback. It is understandable that you might have found the 'Nederlands in Actie' book a bit difficult. It is a big step from 'Nederlands in Gang' to 'Nederlands in Actie' and we have tried to bridge that gap with our Kickstart handout, which you mentioned was helpful. However, the challenge presented by this 'Nederlands in Actie' book should deliver more and more results in your language skills, especially as you continue to progress to the higher-level courses. The group was very small,so we could focus more during the lessons...it was a kind of intensive one. Maybe the homeworks are a bit too much, considering that we are working all day long, but the effort pays in the end.

some excercises in the book nederlandse in actie are a bit too complicated. i prefered the excrrcises in the handout
Oddett is lovely, encouraging . The course however is not quite for me. I was hoping for a deeper understanding. I know that it wouldn't make financial sense to change the course but what is really needed for me (and others from what people ar saying) is half the content with double the time for more repetition and deeper understanding. Also - for English speakers talking about auxiliary verbs and past participles is not some thing that we are so familiar with and certainly not something that makes it easier to understand. anyway it was a nice course but I will not feel comfortable going on. thank you
Dear Claire, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on the course. It is indeed a challenging course that requires time both for the lessons and for 2-3 hours homework per lesson too. Some people are able to pick up languages more quickly than others and we understand that for native English speakers who have perhaps not had much experience learning other languages before, the ‘language’ of grammar (referring to parts of speech, different tenses, etc., by using grammatical terminology) can be an added challenge. Unfortunately that is something that has to be understood in order to learn a language. So I can understand that the course might have felt like it covered rather a lot. I would recommend reviewing the material once more and taking some time to let it sink in while you practise your new language skills in everyday life. Consolidating what you have learnt in class to establish a ‘survival level’ of Dutch will definitely help you feel more comfortable in Dutch-speaking society. All the best, Kickstart School.

the course though is fast paced but is designed brilliantly. the material is amazing. my only feedback is it would be immensly helpful if the grammar rules at the end of the book could be translated in english as well.

I recommend this course! Lessons are clear. I learnt a lot; grammar, speaking and writing.
I do not feel at ease with your methodology and the approach of teaching. Too many concepts to abdorb in a too short period of time.

will join for a next course if have afford. i like odette and her style, but i find grammar hard and usually quite quickly readed from the book, not really explaned by own words.
I'm very happy with the course, Tasmin was amazing. I'll come back on September or October to continue improving my English.
It was a good course, very complete but in my opinion I think it was to short.
