Where do I even begin, at the beginning of 2026 I faced a crucial moment in my life after being in the Netherlands for almost 5 years (4.7 years to be exact), on a HSM visa I got laid off by my employer due to a restructuring and I had 3 months to secure a new job with a new employer who can sponsor me on a HSM visa. 2026 proved to be difficult with job applications getting rejected left, right and centre which was very frustrating.
