I had some issues with the portal account to request my personal loan, (it took the bank a couple of days to fix it), but Hetty helped me in the process, notified me when it was fixed and answer a couple of questions I had. She helped in the past with some insurance.

Being treated as if I was a new customer to ABN AMRO displayed a lack of customer loyalty from you.

Despite the fact that I have been an ABN AMRO customer for over 27 years, the process treated me as if I was a new customer. There was no experience that I was a valued customer of ABN AMRO and I might as well have used any online bank for this level of service. Online banking does not excuse a premium bank from understanding the customer, especially when the bank retains so much personal data on then and they have the power to use Artificial Intelligence applications to make use of this data.

Easy process, everything can be done remotely

I had two minor issues: - there are no notes that ID should contain BSN - I couldn't understand which bank statement do I have to attach if you a bit tune the descriptions it would be super and save client service time.

Human contact is missing

The process become a little bit stressful because there is no way to contact anyone during the process. just calling the customer service (Thanks GOD) I could finish the request. I don't understand why you are asking for documentation that you have already form me. I´m customer for 15 years, you can see my bank statement, incomes, paylists etc...my personal identification etc.....and i had issue uploading the docs....

A bit of a complicated process

Application process was unnecessarily complicated: cannot apply online, cryptic errors, wrong "client type", dumb chatbots, pedantic document checks even if the.applicant is a costumer for more than a decade.... And on top, no personal attention to the client, basically no differentiation or personalized conditions at all.

Frustrated by the blocks and hurdles

I would firstly like to say that the people I spoke with via the helplines were wonderful and they are the reason that I am not rating my experience lower. Luckily throughout all the system issues etc they were able to help me navigate through them. The reason for my overall rating is because from the initial application right the way to the last documents there was continued frustration because of system blocks / issues because me and my husband are not Dutch citizens. For some reason this seemed to cause issues despite being EU citizens and already having all of our banking facilities with ABN AMRO (including our mortgage). In addition to this, it was bizarre that it was better to apply for the loan on my own rather than including my husbands income as well (as apparently not having a permanent contract is a red flag). This has made my husband and I question whether to continued banking with ABN AMRO. Again the people I spoke to allowed things to continue but these system blocks and also some of the documents requested made no sense again given we are EU citizens and already do all of our banking with ABN AMRO.

Fast and efficient. Only issues, English version is difficult. No option to easily upload IDs for EU citizens, such as BRP extract.
